Brian Connell and Jim Grace - Rockwell Collins


Brian Connell is the Rockwell Collins’ Data Link Engineering Manager and Technical Director. A Rockwell Collins employee for over 18 years, he began his career as a hardware and software Design Engineer. In 1993, Brian transferred to the ACARS/Data Link project as an Engineering Manager for ARINC 758 CMU development. During the subsequent 10 years in the Data Link Engineering Department, his duties expanded to include responsibility for all Data Link developments including VDL Mode 2 and ATN.Brian received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1985.

Jim Grace is the Rockwell Collins’ CNS/ATM Data Link Programs Manager. A Rockwell Collins employee for the past 18 years, he began his career as a Computer Programmer and Technical Writer. Within two years, Jim transferred to the ACARS/Data Link start-up project as a Software Engineer for airline applications. During the subsequent 14 years in the Data Link Engineering Department, his duties expanded from a Project Engineer to Technical Director of airline applications and FANS programs. Jim joined the Rockwell Collins’ Program Management Office over 2 years ago as the CNS/ATM Data Link Program Manager. His current responsibilities include CMU-900 AOC Applications, CMU-900 AOA/VDL Mode 2/3, FAA CPDLC Build 1, and LINK 2000+ Programs. Jim received a BS in Computer Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology in 1985.
